Noise Absorbers

Hanging Fiberglass

Hanging Fiberglass Baffle for Sound Proofing or Noise Control

For eliminating reverberant noise in large rooms, noisy sections of plant floors, or over curtain enclosures. Each  fiberglass absorber measures 2'H X 4'W, comes with grommets for hanging, and provides approximately 10 Sabins of absorption (see Noise Absorption Principles). When hung in the recommended density of one absorber per 8-10 square feet of floor area. Typical ambient noise reductions of 4-7dBA can be achieved.  A very economical noise control  tactic when sound proofing is required over a  very large floor area.  This does not eliminate the need for noise control or sound proofing of any single large noise generator (e.g. compressor, punch-press).

Poly-Covered Fiberglass

The lowest cost way to add sound absorption, sound proofing  or noise control to large rooms and/or enclosures, 1.5" thick, high density fiberglass core, sealed in 2 mil off white polyethylene cover. Brass Grommets for hanging. 4 feet wide X 2 feet tall.
Lowest cost noise absorber
No exposed fiberglass, easy to keep clean
Flame retardant cover meets Federal MVSS # 302 test for flame retardance
Non-Combustible fiberglass core
lightweight easy to install

Acoustic Foam Acoustic Foam for Sound proofing or Noise Control
Acoustic Foam for Sound proofing or Noise Control

Acoustic foams are an excellent choice for do-it-yourself projects for sound proofing or noise control requiring small to moderate areas of noise absorption material. Foam is easy to cut and fasten to almost any surface. Available in standard or aluminized versions, both 1" thick.

Standard Acoustic Foam (SAF) is charcoal colored, open cell polyurethane foam product. It has good structural integrity, requiring little mechanical support. Acoustic foam is particularly effective at absorption of the mid-to-high frequency noise.

Aluminized Mylar foam (AMF) is identical to SAF, Except that a wipe clean, 1 mil aluminized Mylar facing has been flame laminated to one side. The facing reflects light and heat, and keeps dirt, dust and grease from blocking the absorptive surface of the foam. This a versatile material that can be put on ceilings, inside of machine cabinets or on walls to provide noise control or sound proofing.

SAF available in roll 54" wide, 50', 25', and 10' lengths. AMF is available in rolls 54" wide and 25" and 10' lengths.

F Standard Acoustic Foam (SAF) has a NRC 0.95 a  Aluminized Mylar Foam (AMF) has a NRC of 0.75
F Convoluted foam; 1" has a NRC of .70.F 2" has a NRC of 0.80, F 3" foam has a NRC of 0.85

Convoluted Acoustic Foam (CAF)
CAF is an open-celled polyester foam featuring peaks and valleys which redirect sound waves into the foam where the sound is converted to kinetic energy and absorbed. Gives you 4 times more absorptive surface than flat foams. Available in rectangular sheets 27" wide x 54" long, (4 Sheets per box), 1", 2" or 3" thick. NRC rating:1" - .80, 2" - .86, 3" - .91.

Aluminized Mylar Foam (AMF)
AMF is an open-celled polyester foam with an added one mil. aluminized mylar facing, laminated to one side. The facing reflects light and heat and keeps dirt, dust and grease from blocking the absorptive surface of the foam. Especially effective in dirty, greasy industrial environments. Available in rolls 1" thick x 54" wide x 10' or 25' long. NRC rating .70.

Standard Acoustic Foam (SAF)
SAF is an open-celled polyester foam particularly effective at absorption of mid-to-high frequency noise. Available in rolls 1" thick x 54" wide x 10', 25' or 50' long. NRC rating .85.

Sound Stick Adhesive is a solvent-free construction adhesive. Available in 10.5 oz. Gunning cartridge that will cover approximately 32 ft. per 1/4" bead.
